What is collected

Anonymised analytics: which pages get read, roughly which country a visit comes from, and which links get clicked. That is used for one thing, which is working out which pages are worth expanding. No profiles are built, nothing is sold to anybody, and there is nothing here that could identify you personally.

If you email me, I have your email and whatever you wrote in it, for as long as the conversation is useful. That is the only place a name reaches me at all, and it only happens because you chose to write. See contact.

The booking panels

The availability panels on the ticket and review pages are served by GetYourGuide and load from their servers, not from this one. When one loads, your browser talks to GetYourGuide, and they may set cookies so that a booking can be attributed to this site — which is how the arrangement described in the affiliate disclosure works. Those cookies are theirs, set under their privacy policy, and I never see what is in them.

When you actually book, you do it on GetYourGuide, on their pages. Your name, your dates, your card details and your booking history are held by them. None of it passes through this site, and I cannot look up, change or cancel a booking — that is between you and them.

Your choices

Blocking cookies in your browser will not break anything here. At most a booking panel stops remembering that you arrived from this site, which costs me a commission and costs you nothing. If you would rather read the guides and book elsewhere, or not book at all, the site works perfectly well that way: start with the complete guide or what to see, neither of which needs you to buy anything. And if you would rather buy your ticket at the museum desk, do you need to book explains when that is a perfectly reasonable plan.
